Knesset Member Gila Finkelstein (National Religious Party) said today that Prime Minister Ariel Sharon is set to release Arab prisoners as a gesture to US President George Bush ahead of the two leaders' upcoming meeting. If Sharon fails to bring up the release of Israeli agent Jonathan Pollard from an American jail in this context, Finkelstein said, then "he will be unable to claim in the future that Pollard's blood and deteriorating health are not on his hands."After Prime Minister Sharon announced that he is considering the release of Jordanian and Judea, Samaria and Gaza Arabs from Israeli incarceration, MK Finkelstein said: "Again it is happening that about a week ahead of the prime minister's meeting with President Bush, Sharon makes a gesture to the president and releases prisoners."
