Chief Rabbi Mordecai Eliyahu's Secret Letter to President Bush

"I will be Pollard's Guarantor"

Justice4JP Release - February 6, 2006

The following letter was personally entrusted by HaRav Mordecai Eliyahu (former Chief Rabbi of Israel) into the hands of US Ambassador Daniel Kurtzer in January 2005 (prior to the end of his term as Ambassador to Israel) for delivery to President George W. Bush. In his letter to the president, the former Chief Rabbi once again reiterated his offer to be Pollard's guarantor. Kurtzer solemnly promised HaRav Eliyahu that he would personally deliver the letter to the President. More than a year later, HaRav Eliyahu has not received the courtesy of a response from the White House.
