Individuals and organizations can now order free Pollard prayer cards from Manhigut Yehudit!
After meeting with Jonathan Pollard (July 14, 2004) Moshe Feiglin and Shmuel Sackett, leaders of Manhigut Yehudit, responded to a request from Jonathan to reprint and distribute the Pollard prayer card composed by HaRav Mordecai Eliyahu, shlita.
The prayer card is composed of Nishmat Kol Chai (a segula for all blessings); a special prayer for Jonathan Pollard; and Teffilat HaDerech (the traveler's prayer). This prayer card was designed to speed the release of Jonathan Pollard, and will remain effective and bless all who pray from it even after Jonathan is released (B"H soon!)
Feiglin and Sackett have already sent out more than 70,000 prayer cards in Israel, and are planning a mass distribution in the US. Their organization, Manhigut Yehudit, has graciously and generously agreed to make the prayer cards available to all individuals and groups. Information on how to order follows below.
The National Council of Young Israel under the leadership of Rabbi Pesach Lerner recently entered into a partnership with Manhigut Yehudit in order to make the prayer cards available to all NCYI members. Manhigut is printing the cards and NCYI will be doing a mass mailing in the month of Ellul. Both organizations are to be strongly commended!
J4JP points out that by reprinting and distributing the free Pollard prayer cards, Manhigut Yehudit not only has an enormous share in the mitzvah of Pidyan Shvuyim but also in the mitzvah of Zikui haRabbim. Zikui haRabbim means enabling the public at large to do a mitzvah. The merit of Zikui haRabbim is immeasurable. Our sages teach that the merit of this mitzvah extends throughout the generations, benefiting the doer and his/her descendants to eternity.
Every organization that distributes the Pollard prayer cards (Manhigut and NCYI) shares in the mitzvoth of Pidyan Shvuyim and Zikui haRabbim. Its leaders and its individual members are all blessed by the organization's participation. Congregations, prayer groups and all Jewish organizations are strongly encouraged to participate in this major mitzvah.
HaRav Eliyahyu teaches that any person who prays from the Pollard prayer card (in whole or in part) is similarly blessed. Praying from these cards in groups or in a minyan increases the prayer power and blessing for all exponentially.
