Pollard Freedom Forest Now "Official" - All Are Welcome!

The Knesset Symbols and Ceremonies Committee has given its approval to a request submitted by Minister of Agriculture Israel Katz to recognize the creation of a forest in honor of Jonathan Pollard on Tu B'Shvat (February 8, 2004) as an official Israeli Government Ceremony.

Along with the official stamp of Knesset approval, the name of the forest has officially been declared

In anticipation of larger crowds than originally predicted, the planting site has been moved slightly further south of the originally designated site. Participants from all parts of the country will plant 5,500 trees in the newly established location south of Jerusalem (near the Givaot Bar Forest.)

Participants are invited to arrive at 11:00 AM. The official ceremony will commence at noon. Speakers include public officials and important personalities. Entertainment will be provided by some of Israeli's top names in contemporary music. The public at large is invited to attend this historic event.

Transportation from Jerusalem is available. Buses will leave from Binyanei Ha'Uma between 9:00-9:30 am. Reservations in advance are required.
