FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF JEWISH LAWYERS AND JURISTS (AAJLJ)
URGES DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE TO EASE JONATHAN POLLARDS PAROLE RESTRICTIONS

Washington, DC - December 7, 2015

The American Association of Jewish Lawyers and has issued a letter to United States Attorney General, Loretta E. Lynch, urging the Department of Justice to consent to any request by Jonathan Pollard to relocate to Israel, or alternatively, ease Pollards parole restrictions by eliminating ankle or leg monitoring and home and employment computer surveillance. In its letter, the AAJLJ also expressed concern that Pollards parole restrictions impermissibly interfere with his ability to practice his religion in violation of the Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA). A copy of the letter is attached.
