On the 4th of January 2011, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu made a formal appeal for Jonathan Pollard's release from the podium of the Knesset Plenum. As part of his speech, the Prime Minister read the text of the official request which he had sent to US President Barack Obama requesting that the president release Pollard. The PM's speech was heartfelt, regal and historically unprecedented.
