State asks Court to reject petition against Eitan
The Jerusalem Post - May 30, 2006
The state's attorneys told the High Court of Justice on Tuesday that Prime Minister Ehud Olmert believed the appointment of Gil Pensioners MK Rafi Eitan to cabinet minister would not harm efforts to bring about the release of Jonathan Pollard from an American prison.
According to the state's response to a high court petition by Pollard supporters, charges were never brought against Eitan in the Pollard affair. Since there was no criminal investigation into Eitan's actions, the prime minister asked the high court to reject the petition.
