Activists for Jonathan Pollard have pasted thousands of posters all over the city of Jerusalem in which Pollard is pictured wearing Arafat's keffiah. The title on the poster is:

IF POLLARD HAD BEEN AN TERRORIST [against Israel] SHARON WOULD WANT HIM RELEASED.

According to activists, this is the first of a wave of new activities that is planned to protest the fact that PM Sharon has responded positively to the Americans by releasing terrorists but has never demanded the release of Jonathan Pollard from the US after 20 years in prison.

"It is unconsciounable that after Pollard, an Israeli agent, has served 20 years in prison, Israel is now acting upon the request of the Americans to release 5 terrorists with blood on their hands who have served 12 years in prison," said Adi Ginzburg, one of the activists.

Adi indicated that in days to come, many more posters will be put up, on Government Buildings, and on private homes of ministers, so that they will not be able to ignore this issue any longer.

But Sharon has never demanded the release of Jonathan Pollard from the US as a gesture to Israel.
