Leaks and Shticks May Break My Bones

Please help us! Why are people failing to see the obvious?!

Dear Yori,

The government's deliberate leak to Yedioth Aharonoth makes it seem as it Jonathan's release is tied to the 2nd redeployment. This is nothing but a calculated deception aimed at undermining opposition to the redeployment. It is a complete lie, even the White House denies it. Nevertheless, the government put it out there as a "sweetener" for the bitter pill of redeployment that they intend to force the nation to swallow. Please Yori, remind your readers that this is not the first time that we have heard this song.

The last time the government sang it was over the withdrawal from Hebron. Everyone was told to be quiet and cooperate, that Pollard would be part of the prisoner release once we withdrew from Hebron. We withdrew, and of course, Pollard was not a part of anything. And once it was all over, the government denied ever promising that Pollard would be a part of the accords.

This time they are trying to create the impression that Pollard is a part of the next redeployment through a well orchestrated and very calculated media "leak" which they can easily deny once all the dust clears. This government thinks that the people are fools and that they can keep promising Pollard but never delivering.

Unfortunately, people are so desperate to hear good news about Pollard that they suspend their good judgement. We are getting far too many emails and faxes indicating that people are swallowing this lie, and allowing themselves to be duped once again. Please help us to get the word out that there is no substance to the Yedioth Aharonoth story. It just one more round of the same old duplicitous song, holding out the hope that if we as a nation bite the bullet we may see Pollard home. This is just one of the ploys that the Netanyahu government is using to try to sell the nation on a second redeployment that is as difficult to sell as it is for the people to swallow.

Thank you for your help in warning the nation not to be lulled into a false sense of complacency by this wicked ploy perpetrated upon us the day after Yom Kippur.
