Netanyahu Asks Clinton to Pardon Pollard

- Likud Chairman Benjamin Netanyahu met with U.S. Ambassador to Israel Martin Indyk in the Likud offices at Neve Ilan. Netanyahu requested that Indyk convey a special letter to U.S. President Bill Clinton with a personal request to pardon and release Jonathan Pollard from prison where he is serving a life sentence for espionage.In his letter to Clinton, Netanyahu stresses that alleviating the suffering of Pollard is a desire that is shared by many Israeli and Americans alike, regardless of their political affiliation.
