Peres: Citizenship can only help in initiative to free Pollard

In an interview clip that aired repeatedly on Kol Yisroel Reshet Bet, November 27, 1995, Prime Minister Peres volunteered that he intended to raise the issue of Jonathan Pollard's release with President Clinton when the two heads of state meet in Washington on December 11, 1995. Mr. Peres termed the Pollard issue as a collateral important issue along side the peace process. When questioned as to the significance of Pollard's newly acquired citizenship, Mr. Peres replied that Pollard's new status as an Israeli citizen can only help.
