Dear Mr. President:
We are approaching the Jewish New Year and as such we want to wish you and your family good health, happiness and prosperity in all of your undertakings.
At the same time we reflect on the fact that this is the season of repentance and forgiveness. We therefore respectfully write to you as we have done in the past urging that you consider Jonathan Pollard and his situation with a mind towards clemency. We do not in any way underestimate his crime but we suggest that he has served considerable time in prison and that it serves no further purpose to keep him behind bars. Once again, therefore, we urge you to commute his sentence to time served.
Most cordially and sincerely yours,
