TEL AVIV, April 4 Col. Aviem Sella, who resigned his command of a major Israeli air base because of his role in the Jonathan Jay Pollard spy scandal, has been appointed an instructor in the National Security College, the army said today.

The college grooms officers for top posts in the Israeli armed forces.

Colonel Sella has been indicted in the United States on charges that he recruited Mr. Pollard, a former United States naval intelligence analyst, to spy for Israel.

On Sunday, the colonel said he was resigning the command he was recently awarded at the Tel Nof air base.
