Dry Bones: The American Jewish Community and Jonathan Pollard

J4JP Release - November 22, 2012

On November 21, 2012, Jonathan Pollard entered his 28th year of a life sentence. The median sentence for the offense he committed is 2 to 4 years. 70% of the Jewish vote in the elections on November 6th went to President Obama, who has yet to address the numerous calls and requests from ranking American officials and Jewish leaders for Jonathan's release both as a matter of justice (because his sentence is "grossly disproportionate") and as a humanitarian issue (since Jonathan's health is failing.) As Jonathan begins year 28 in prison, the silence is deafening. What does that tell you about the health of the American Jewish Community?
