Esther Pollard has 'good' meeting with Peres before US trip

Esther Pollard, wife of imprisoned Israeli agent Jonathan Pollard, met with President Shimon Peres Sunday morning hours before his planned departure for the United States where he was expected to meet with US President Barack Obama.
Pollard, speaking after the meeting, said: "It was a good meeting. The president listened to me and I hope and believe that [what I told him] penetrated his heart." She asked Peres to request clemency for her husband in his meeting with Obama.
She added that, "dozens of requests from senior American officials calling for the release of Jonathan are being placed on President Obama's desk."
Addressing the Israeli people, she said: "Jonathan's health is not good, so please pray for his health and his immediate release," adding that "after 26 years, I cannot imagine another holiday in which my husband is not a free man," she added.
