Kadouri's Final Request to Bush: Free Jonathan Pollard

Justice4JP Release - January 28, 2006

Rabbi Yitzhak Kadouri, leading kabbalist, who passed away in Jerusalem tonight, at the age of more than 100 years old, made a final request to President George Bush in recent months: free Jonathan Pollard.

In his request to Bush to free Pollard, Rabbi Kadouri reminded the American president of the of Biblical injuction: "

What does the Lord require of you, but to do justice, love mercy, and to walk humbly with your G-d.

" Kadouri assured Bush that both he and America would be blessed for this righteous act.

J4JP joins the People of Israel in calling upon President Bush to do "chessed shel emet" for Rabbi Kadouri by honoring his final request and sending Jonathan Pollard home to Israel. Pollard can be here in time to comfort the mourners during the week of shiva which will take place in Jerusalem following the funeral tomorrow.

According to Pollard's wife, Esther, '"There could be no finer tribute to Rabbi Kadouri and no more lasting credit to his memory, than to have Jonathan Pollard sent home and the mitzvah of pidyan shvuyim thus fulfilled in Kadour!i's merit!"
