Letter from MK Rechavam Ze'evi To Mrs. Esther Pollard

May 24, 2000

[Translated from Hebrew]

Dear Mrs. Pollard,

Re: Knesset Resolution on Behalf of Jonathan Pollard, May 23, 2000.

Attached please find a copy of the Knesset Protocol pertaining to the Knesset's discussion of your husband, Jonathan Pollard.

I thank you for your presence in the Honored Guest section during the discussion. You heard the concern and support that the Knesset feels for your husband.

I want to believe and to hope that the President of the United States, Mr. Bill Clinton, will respond favorably this time to the request of the people of Israel and that he will grant clemency to Jonathan Pollard at once. It is important that it be brought to the attention of the President that this is a request from all of Israel, from one end of the nation to the other.

We wish for you and for Jonathan and for all of Israel that we will soon merit to see Jonathan home and rebuilding his family line here in Jerusalem. Amen.

Yours, and with blessings,

(signed)

MK Rechavam Ze'evi
Head of the Knesset Lobby for Pollard
