Another Delay in Pollard Case

May 4, 1998 - IINS News Service

Following the refusal of Jonathan Pollard's attorney Larry Dub to agree to grant a continuance, the government of Israel filed a petition with the High Court of Justice, noting Pollard's refusal to grant a continuance and requesting that the court impose a 15-day delay.

The Supreme Court granted the Government's petition and has once again delayed the case for 15 days.

Pollard's attorney is seeking a government admission and public acknowledgement that the convicted spy was indeed acting as an Israeli agent and not as an independent citizen, when he gave classified information to Israel. Such a move would facilitate his release following an Israeli request made to US President Clinton.

Dub has pointed out that once again, the government is using stall tactics to avoid the issues at hand.
