Dear President Clinton,
On March 9, 1993 I and my colleagues from the New York State Assembly, signed a joint bi-partisan letter asking you to commute Jonathan Pollard's sentence to time already served.
Since that time I have made repeated efforts to personally hand deliver the letter to you. As a member of the New York State Assembly, a State which overwhelmingly voted for you, a delegate to the Democratic National Convention and an early supporter of yours, I am disappointed by what appears to be a policy of avoidance. After four months of delays, I am reluctantly mailing the letter to you.
I still would like to meet with you personally to discuss this urgent matter.
I again, urge you to commute Mr. Pollard's life sentence to time already served.
Thank you for your attention in this matter.
Sincerely,
(signed)
Sam Colman
Member of Assembly
